Baraka Moon Saturday, October 18, 7:00 pm $20 adv, $22 door, $25 priority Baraka Moon’s all original music ignites from the ancient Qawaali Sufi trance songs, Indian classical ragas, Middle Eastern overtones and African percussion, plus the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo. Baraka Moon was formed in 2008 on the night of an eclipse of the full moon; “Baraka” is the Sufi word for “blessing.” The band creates original music with roots based in Qawaali Sufi trance songs, Indian, Middle Eastern, and African drums and percussion, plus the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo, all mixed together in one gloriously expressive and positive whole designed to uplift listeners.
