Saturday, December 5th, at 8:00 pm Human Nature Dance Theatre brings its’ unique blend of dance, theatre and live music to the Old Town Center for the Arts, for a performance entitled “Flying At Night” on Saturday, December 5th, at 8:00 PM. “Flying at Night” is the story of traveling into the unknown. We find ourselves surrounded by darkness, journeying deeper into our fears. While learning to trust new sensations we create new pathways to take us where we need to go. We explore the transparencies that night brings on, when the line between sleeping and waking is hard to distinguish. The impossible becomes the possible and we begin to fly. In this performance, you will have an exploration through feeling, with limited sight. An inky-black mystery, which beckons us still into its fold though we cannot foresee what lies ahead. The darkness of the unknown, which is not merely walked into, but flown through, light as a feather, quick as a falcon. Alert for what can't be seen, compelled to travel courageously onward when others might hide in their nests. The evening journey comes, with only the stars to guide us home. This concert marks a return of the performance group to its’ birthplace in the Verde Valley where the community witnessed the beginnings of its collaborative and improvisational process twenty years ago. The original mix of elements is generated from a deep yearning for the true human experience. Human Nature Dance Theatre is made up of Jonathan Best, Marshall Elliott, Kristen Greco, Jayne Lee, Francis Martineau, Paul Moore, Delisa Myles, and Gina Shorten. “Flying At Night” will follow the 16th Annual Chocolate Lover's Walk, that happens in Old Town Cottonwood from 4-8 PM. The Chocolate Walk is a special evening that includes festivities provided by the Old Town Association and merchants of Old Town where participants can receive homemade chocolates, listen to carolers sing and watch at the Christmas lights come shining on, in the vintage ambience of Old Town along Historic 89A.
