Eagles Tribute Band

Celebrate the Eagles!

Tribute Band, in concert, Saturday, January 14th at 7:00 PM. Originating in Prescott, Arizona, South of Winslow band is a collection of six talented and seasoned musicians that perform Eagles music exclusively. The band formed five years ago when six area musicians met and discovered their mutual love for the Eagles. Arguably the most universally known and loved band of the last 40 years, Eagles’ music strikes a chord with all ages and musical persuasions. On stage, South of Winslow’s dedication to vocal and musical mastery places them second-to-none with their replication of the Eagles experience.

The band members include Bill Yates on drums, Bruce Gustin on lead guitar, David Solomon on rhythm guitar/ key board, Mark Myers on lead guitar & lead vocals for Joe Walsh songs, Vance Swope as dedicated lead vocalist for Don Henley and Glenn Frey songs, and Tim Gliddon on bass guitar. All members combine to sing up to five part harmonies.

Band member, Tim Gliddon said, “The name of the band, South of Winslow, was created and adapted from the song Take it Easy, and verse, Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.” By coincidence, the band formed in Prescott which is locally near and South of Winslow. Bill Yates, drummer stated, “The Eagles, they’re tough band to cover because of the complex harmony vocals and instrumentation. It demands concentration and precision.”

The band has performed throughout Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. Aside from their face appearances, they are often mistaken for the real Eagles. While performing to a crowd of nearly 18,000 concert attendees, in Honolulu last year, South of Winslow band was scheduled and performed at the same event and stage as legendary rock artists Kenny Loggins, Steve Augeri of Journey and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship.

The South of Winslow band was deeply moved when on January 18th, 2016 Eagles’ founder and mastermind Glenn Frey passed away. Glenn’s leadership and music contribution to the Eagles and music art influence has been described as “life changing.”

Recently, on December 4, 2016, The Kennedy Center held its 39th annual celebration of the arts. The Kennedy Center Honorees included the rock band the Eagles. The Kennedy Center Honors celebrates the spectacular talents of artists whose brilliance has left a lasting impact on our society.

South of Winslow band wishes to dedicate their January 14th Eagles tribute concert at Old Town Center for the Arts in Cottonwood to the memory of Glenn Frey; inluential singer-songwriter without equal. You are invited to come and spend an evening with South of Winslow and relive forty years of fabulous tunes and memories.
